Guardian to go online only?

Guardian paper shotThe editor is apparently ‘relaxed’ about the prospect of turning into an online publication.

What will happen for me, I like the Grauniad.  One of my main three staples along with the Times and Sun.

Am I alone in hating online coverage?  If nothing else, how will I do my Kakuro and crossword?

All this analysis accompanies the publication’s coverage of Edinburgh TV symposium.  That time when media organisations looks at what they’re doing and pick fluff out of the many belly buttons.

In summary, Jeremy Paxman says that the entire TV industry is a bit pants of late.  Channel 4 damns the BBC.  The BBC kicks out at ITV.  ITV gets smug that it’s not Channel 5.  And Channel 5 plays with its jelly moulds.  Well, ok I made that last bit up.

In Paxman’s keynote, he commented on the defrauding on audiences.  Going on to say that it’s hardly shocking news that Griff Rhys Jones isn’t actually on top of a mountain and then exclusively reveals that Newsnight’s background is painted – Gasp!

But he does go on to say that a lot of the fuss is deeply fraudulent and expects legal action from the public.

And all this finally leads to all companies look at phone ins.  Meanwhile ITV Play (and possibly Michael Grade) hides in a corner tries to make polite conversation with the fake cactus.
