Promotion is only needed for weak stories

About the site

This is the blog for Rob Ashwell a technology PR who has finally made the long trek away from the big smoke that is Bristol.

Aside from getting rather disturbed when writing about himself in the third person Rob has been working in PR and journalism for a little bit short of a decade and enjoys the creative aspect. He is the least technologically minded of any of his colleagues (struggling to transfer calls and still using a paper diary) but believes PR and journalism is about ideas and the ability to pitch them rather than the ability to use very large purchased databases from Vocus etc.

He currently works across a broad spectrum of technologies, from microelectronics to cameras to software. He has also written about several further areas for sites such as the Guardian (tech), Greenbang (environment) and Mobile Industry Review (uhhh… mobiles). Past PR clients have also included Xerox, Accenture, Marconi, the University of Bristol Boat Club and GreenFuels.

He can be reached on Skype – robpublitek and on Twitter.

He takes milk and no sugar in his tea.
